Day 11. Santa Barbara

After breakfast we headed down to Santa Barbara. We walked along the pier and then checked out the various craft vendors along the street. I bought a couple pairs of earrings. Today's photos include a sand scultpture on the beach and a memorial for veterans. Tony also couldn't resist taking a couple shots of some of the blankets that are laid out on the beach. From there we were off to the Santa Barbara Polo Club to meet up with Anthony and watch some polo. The weather was perfect. Whether we sat in the sun or shade, the gentle breeze kept us comfortable. The horses were gorgeous. At the halftime break spectators go on the field to tamp down and divots and are rewarded with some sparkling cider. We went out for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant with Anthony, Anna, Anna's parents, and her uncle, David, who was photographing the match. We stopped to briefly enjoy the sunset just outside of Santa Barbara and then we headed south and spent the night in Ventura.
